General

Restore/backup feeds?
Please use the same account for login. All your feeds and saved items are safely stored in feedly cloud.

Too many permissions required during login?

During login, the permissions are requested by Feedly and not the application itself.

If you’re not comfortable using Microsoft/Google account, please try login with Twitter or Facebook.

Sort articles by oldest first?

Please go to app settings -> general and enable “sort by oldest first” option.

Disable vibrate or haptic feedback?

Please go to app settings -> general and disable “haptic feedback or vibrate when sync is completed” at the bottom.

Save to pocket?

Please open an article and tap share icon.

Hide items when marked as read?

Please go to app settings -> general and turn on “hide article when marked as read” switch.

Save to Reading list?

Please follow below mentioned steps in order to share article to Microsoft‘s reading list.

  • Open the article in reading mode you want to share.
  • Tap on share charm at the bottom.
  • Then again tap on share charm and thereafter tap on Reading List.

Share articles to OneNote?

Please follow below mentioned steps to share articles to onenote through app.

  • Disable “share directly via OS” and use the in-built sharing feature.
  • Tap on share icon –> then configure and enable OneNote. It will ask for your credentials.
  • Then specify destination location in OneNote. Once specified it will save article on that location.

Problems

Error: Cannot login?
There might be a temporary issue on Feedly backend. Please try login again or contact support for further help.

Contacts permission?

We understand your concern.

But contacts access is needed to set default “TO:” address when sharing articles via email. Please go to app settings -> accounts -> email for configuration.

Could not download full article

We use Readability to download full article, but it’s not compatible with some websites. Also, many websites do not support parsers for monetization reasons (as they earn money through ads). We’ll consider more options in future.

Can't share to twitter/pocket/etc?

Please disable “share directly via OS” under app settings -> general. and use the inbuilt share menu.

Buffer login does not work on WP8.1 ?

We’ve reported the issue to Buffer team.Meanwhile please install and login to Buffer via our Windows 8 app: http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/app/nextgen-reader/30648d7a-f0b5-4719-8ca9-7ed6ce3b4b9b

It will automatically sync credentials to Windows Phone.

Can't save pictures on WP8.1?

We’ll add support again in future update.

Remove or delete folder?

Please go to http://feedly.com/i/contents/edit to remove a folder.We’ll add support in future.

Also, tap the three dots at bottom and select “sync subscriptions” after making changes online.

Can't install app on SD card?

We found some performance issues during the testing, but will consider in future release.

Clear cache from phone?

The space taken by app and data itself is usually less (around 50mb). The old articles are automatically deleted from cache on sync.

The web cache is saved in OS temporary location. If you’re using latest version of WP8 (i.e. GDR3), please go to phone settings -> phone storage -> phone -> temporary files and tap “delete”.

Can't share full article via email?

Unfortunately , the email app on phone doesn’t support html for sharing.

Can't share to WhatsApp?

WhatsApp doesn’t support the sharing features provided by OS.

No full screen option in video

Due to an OS issue/behaviour in WP8.1SL apps. We’ll fix this in update.


 Live Tiles

Live tiles not working?

Please follow below mentioned steps based on your versions.

WINDOWS PHONE 8.1 (v6.x)

Please try the below steps:

  • Open “battery saver” app -> select “nextgen reader” and toggle “allow app to run in background” switch to off and on.
  • Go to app settings -> live tiles, toggle “enable live tiles” switch to off and on.

If it’s still not working, please try disabling other apps in background (as some devices have limit on total number of background tasks allowed).

PS. The tiles are updated once every 30 minutes and when you open app it will reset the counter, whether you read all items or not (similar to mail app). It will then be updated again at next interval.

WINDOWS PHONE 8 (v5.x)

Please try the below steps:

  • Go to phone settings -> applications -> background tasks -> Nextgen Reader and disable it. Then, select the checkbox – “Turn background tasks back on for this app the next time I open it”.
  • Go to app settings -> live tiles, turn off and turn on the toggle switch.

PS. Primary tile is updated once every 30 minutes and shows unread count till 99 (in order to support lock screen). When you open app, the live tile is cleared and updated again at next interval (similar to mail app).

For unread counts up to 999, please tap the three dots at bottom in Subscriptions list or “All Items” list, select “pin to start” and choose flip mode.

How to send Live tile log?

Go to app settings -> about and tap “send tiles log”.

Live tile behavior: Unread count and headlines

It is similar to native mail app i.e. once you open app it will reset the count/notification, whether you read all items or not. It will then be updated again at next interval.

PS. We’ll consider an option to “always display unread count and headlines” in future

Secondary tiles not working after app update?

Unfortunately, it’s an OS issue (WP8.1) i.e. whenever app is updated, the secondary tiles stop working if they’re pinned using the previous version.

Please reboot device and wait for the tiles to update. Otherwise please unpin/re-pin the tile.


 Syncing

Sync on start

By default, app will only sync on fresh start (if enabled via app settings -> general).

However, you can pin “Subscriptions” or “All Items” tile to start screen to always sync on start or resume.

Sync errors?

Some users have reported intermittent sync errors over HTTPS. Please disable HTTPS via settings -> general. We’re looking further into it.

For permanent sync issues e.g. office network or proxy, please try enabling HTTPS via settings -> general.

Sync error: NotFound?

  • Check date and time on phone is correct.
  • Enable/disable HTTPS via app settings -> general.

Increase sync limits?

Go to app settings -> synchronization and increase the “Reading-list” limit.

Not showing all unread articles or feeds?

By default, app only syncs 250 unread articles. Go to app settings -> synchronization and increase the “Reading-list” limit.

Subscriptions not updated after changing on website?

Subscriptions are synced only once every day (to save data and enable faster syncing).

Please tap the three dots at bottom and select “sync subscriptions” to update immediately (after making changes on web).

View feeds inside a folder?

Please tap the left edge (folder icon) to open feeds list.

Set open method / load full article

To load full articles directly, please follow the steps below:

  • In subscriptions view, tap the three dots at bottom and select “set open method”. OR
  • In reading view, tap the three dots at bottom and select “load full article for this feed”.

Tap the left edge to select multiple articles

Tap the left edge to select an item and then tap anywhere to select (or de-select) further items in the list.

Easily mark them as read or unread (via the three dots menu).

Open YouTube video in external apps

Please click the video title or youtube icon to open video in external player.

Choose your favourite YouTube player via app settings -> article view (at the bottom).


Payment

Purchased app but still running trial?

You don’t have to purchase again. Just press the buy button again and store will automatically confirm your old purchase.
